About me
My name is Karen I am a qualified integrative counsellor practicing in Billericay. I trained and originally worked solely with clients in the more traditional way of a room setting.
However, I have always encouraged clients to incorporate outside activities as part of their work with me; walking, cycling, gardening, jogging, or even sitting, and the results I witnessed of the therapeutic benefits they experienced led me to take my work with clients outdoors and use nature as my therapy room.

Working in nature
Nature has a naturally soothing effect and improves our wellbeing and mental health. It heightens the consciousness of our senses; the sights we see, their colours and shapes; the sounds we hear; the aromas we smell, and the textures we touch; senses, and their effects that might otherwise remain unrecognised.
Being in nature while talking through troubling thoughts, feelings and experiences helps to create a more organic relaxing environment. It gives us a space to clear a cluttered mind and allow room for reflection and contemplation, and in turn, gives us space to develop a new understanding and awareness of how our life events have shaped our perspective of the world and how we can bring about change.
I believe most of us have been affected in some way by the significant changes experienced as a result of the pandemic; whether it has exacerbated existing problems or created new ones, I am here to offer you my help to gain some clarity on any troubling issues or confusion you may be experiencing.
